Once you deliver the Horadric Scroll to Cain, he'll send you to search for the Horadric Staff on your second quest.
However, they can only revive enemies that are within his line of sight, so if you can lure Radament's groupies away from him and kill them somewhere else, he'll be much easier to kill. They can raise any undead you've killed at a much faster rate than Fallen Shamans in Act I. It's important to keep a lookout for them when exploring any Act II dungeon/tomb. He'll be your first encounter with a Greater Mummy, one of the most aggravating monster types you'll be facing in Diablo II. Radament is hiding in his lair somewhere on the third level of the sewers. You'll first find Burning Dead Archers starting in Sewers Level 2 and Burning Dead Mages and Huntress in Sewers Level 3.Īs you make your way through the Sewers, be sure to scout the second level for the waypoint thoroughly. We recommend you hire a mercenary from Greiz and grab some antidotes from Lysander before heading down. The sewers are full of Burning Deads, Burning Dead Mages, Burning Dead Archers, and poisonous Dried Corpses, so Fire and Poison resistances will be pretty handy. The entrance you pick will not matter that much, but keep in mind that many Act II dungeons will have two entrances/exits. There are two entrances to the sewers, one beneath the Trap Door near Greiz, the other through the metal door right next to the city's port. It would take an extraordinarily powerful intellect to alter the single purpose of an undead mind, and wondered if there was a power at work here beyond his ken. Drognan speculated that Radament was bent on reviving his own corpse with the flesh of the living most unusual behavior. The town's mercenaries planned to send an organized group into the sewers to kill the creature, but with the trouble plaguing the desert, they couldn't afford the chance of losing any men.Īt Atma's request, a group of heroes ventured into the sewers and slew Radament, giving Atma some measure of peace. Every now and then, a would-be hero headed into the sewers to confront him, but failed to slay the creature. Some of the victims washed up in the city's sewers, often missing limbs or a head, and their bodies had always been skinned. However, he still took victims, hacking off their limbs. Eventually, Radament was barricaded within the sewers. At first the creature raided the town at night, and among his victims were Atma's husband and son. Upon his death, per Horadric rites, he was mummified and buried in Aranoch.Ĭenturies later, Radament awakened, left his tomb, and made his lair to Lut Gholein.
Radament was part of the original Horadric group.
